[2.1.8] Can't modify blueprints snap-to-grid parameters

Post by Fayeur »

Summary
Hello ! I just upgraded to version 2.1.8 and can't modify the parameters (grid size and positions) of snap-to-grid function.
If that may be relevant, I'm on macOS 15.7.4 (build 86744, mac-arm64, steam, space-age).
What did you do?
I created a blueprint with the shortcut, activated the snap-to-grid function, and tried to enter different numbers for grid size.
What happened?
The numbers I typed on my keyboard didn't appear. However, I'm able to delete the already present sizes, which correctly resize the grid.
What did you expect to happen instead?
I expected the numbers I typed to appear and resize the grid accordingly.
Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
It happens every time I create a blueprint or modify an existing blueprint, whether on a new save or on an upgraded one.
Fellow developer's thoughts
The other "number" fields of the game (logistic requests, logic circuit, ...) seem to be working fine, only the snap-to-grid feature is affected.
The number keys I use are the one above the keyboard, not from a numeric pad.

Hi! Not opening an issue as it would be duplicated, but I have the exact same issue.

Keyboard layout: bépo (that's a French version of a Dvorak layout, not very important), I got the same issue in azerty (default French layout).

What I see is that the hotbar changes, going through the different numbers I type (from 1 to 0), but the digits are not written in the parameters.
HOWEVER, somehow, in bépo, the 8 does work. Not the rest.

I managed to make it work using the num pad on my laptop, but not everyone might have that option.

Version: 2.1.8, linux build.

That didn't even occur to me, but I'm also using an AZERTY layout!

So far, I've found two ways to avoid the issue:
- Changing to a QWERTY layout
- Keeping the number key pressed for ~half a second, after which the number keeps appearing while the key is pressed down (habitual keyboard behavior)

Hey,
I think it might be the same issue as this one? viewtopic.php?p=696543&hilit=azerty#p696543

So i'll write the same thing I wrote over there as I have the same issue:

I'm facing the same issue on Windows, on 2.1.9, AZERTY keyboard, and I can't write numbers into the Grid Size/Grid Position number fields of the blueprint editor.
Also switching to QWERTY with alt shift doesn't change anything for me.

Also for some reason "6" is the only number that works (shift+- on azerty)

It behaves as if the text field is just not focused, I use a numpad-less keyboard so if I use Shift-& (which is 1 on azerty) it switches to quickbar 1, if I use capslock then & (once again =1) it selects the item in the 1 slot of the quickbar.

Hello, I am having the same issue since 2.1.7

Another workaround is to have notepad, write the value I want, for instance "50", copy it and then paste it in the game.

Configuration: AZERTY, windows 11, no numepad available
