Hello everyone,
I'm running Factorio 2.0 DEMO on an Intel Atom N550 (2010) with software render (no GPU) and launching a rocket in the demo using my custom control.lua in level-01.
Script: https://gist.github.com/kavimever-rgb/6 ... 1378feaae8
To use this script in Factorio DEMO, go to Steam\steamapps\common\Factorio Demo\data\base\campaigns\tutorial\level-01, rename the original control.lua to control.lua.bak, paste my script there as control.lua, and launch the game. Start the first tutorial level and you'll get a 2000x2000 world with all ores, no enemies, and you can build and launch the rocket. But careful — if you save and exit, you can't load it again because the demo blocks saves, so do everything in one session.
FPS and settings (Zink + Vulkan):
This is my gameplay and launching the rocket at ... 5–3 FPS:
If you don't want to download the video, I was able to run my control.lua on an Intel Atom N550 (which is 16 years old), which in turn runs the original map generation in DEMO, and cheat mode also works (but it's optional).

If you don't want to download the video, here's a link to YouTube (sorry for the video quality):

Yes, the Factorio Demo is "just" a slightly-cut-down version of the Base Game. It is intended to guide you towards purchasing a full License if you enjoy the game mechanics. Analysis of the data/base/ resources included with the Demo shows that almost the entire contents of the Base Game is present.... discounting the "scenarios" folder (not shipped in the Demo) and "campaigns" folder (only tutorial is included in the Demo) the file counts & sizes are nearly identical:
Demo version 2.0.77 supports Load Game just fine:
