Not really sure of the root cause - I'm randomly generating planets and they've been fine right up until I hit this one. I'm not seeing anything illegal in the data but every time I hit this planet backdrop I crash to desktop.
Using the Backdrop Viewer mod (optional dependency on what I'm linking) to cycle between planet backdrops.
Attached is log + zip containing the data for the planet in a self-contained mod.
What did you do?
- Load planet + viewer mod
- Start new game
- Press right arrow or left arrow to cycle between planets
- Hit the planet added by the mod
What happened?
- Crash to desktop
What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
- The planet should be viewable as others are
Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
- 100% reproducible, every time I view this planet

Closing the loop for anyone reading this - it's maybe/unofficially been fixed.
