What did you do?
I started version 2.1.7 on Arch Linux with the audio driver set to Pipewire
What happened?
The audio was incredibly choppy both during the startup loading screen and the main menu
What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
I expected the audio to be smooth and normal like it was on this setting when played on version 2.0.77, or when played on 2.1.7 when the audio driver is set to Pulseaudio
Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
This always happens
[2.1.7] [Linux] Audio when using the Pipewire audio driver is very choppy

Re: [2.1.7] [Linux] Audio when using the Pipewire audio driver is very choppy
Thanks for the report.
The log doesn't show any errors regarding audio, so there is nothing to do on Factorio side.
My guess is that some specific combination of things in your setup doesn't play along with the pipewire SDL driver.
As long as the pulseaudio driver option works without issues I consider it good enough.
There were similar reports to yours in the past across various versions (of everything) and I've never been able to narrow down why one driver works better that the other in those specific scenarios.
