+1. I'll add that trees and some of the decoratives also obscure mineral boundaries.

Yes please. Especially with the deco ores that are not true ores (scrap has it especially bad) it's not as easy as it could be to place miners.

Incidentally, I think it would be even better if you could highlight the boundary of a whole contiguous mineral patch rather than just the coverage area of a miner.
Another thing that highlights can help with -- when multiple minerals are mixed together it can sometimes be hard to see when you're mixed mining or not. Highlighting borders could help make this more clear.
