Pasting upgraded assemblers with different modules

Post by calazor »

Very minor, but still slightly annoying. Sometimes, you upgrade an assembler and put different/more modules in it. You then want to copy that and paste it into an entire assembly line. Problem is, you cannot do that without forceful pasting (control + shift), which is bad because if you do so, you deconstruct the old assembler, and construct the new, which you might not want to do for a variety of reasons. Instead, to do it smoothly, you have to first just do the simple upgrade of the assemblers and only then you paste the upgraded assembler with the desired modules. It would be nice if it "just worked" to simply paste the upgraded assembler with different modules on top of lower tier assemblers.

You can use an Upgrade Planner configured to upgrade an "Empty module slot":

You see, that's fine for some situations, but it's still not as generic than what I'm proposing, as it fails for mixed modules setups. In the example you show in the images, say I want, for instance, instead put one more productivity module and one speed module after the upgrade. Not doable with upgrade planner, but doing it manually in one assembler, and copy pasting that, would be more convenient.
