TL;DR
Similarly to my other suggestion regarding some basic tech, Gate research should be done without any science packs, available in the same place on the tech tree like it is now, after building 30 Walls on the map.
Good QoL for 2.1? :geek:
What?

If player (or rather faction) have already researched other required technologies, once player/faction builds 30 Walls on the map, then Gate (research) should be acquired for free. This includes any walls placed before having required technologies. Possibly there also should be around half stack of Gates inside the crashed ship, that becomes available at the moment of unlocking this technology.
Why?
Similarly to my other post regarding some basic tech, this seems like too basic thing to be researched and while watching some videos online I also noticed that a lot of players skip it (at least for some time) and use deconstruction planner as a method to open-up walls to pass and then just undo (Ctrl+Z) this action, sometimes even throughout the entire game instead of building proper gates.

This make me think that this is not just cheesing, but rather workaround for badly balanced cost of acquiring Gate technology.
