Rail signal to let more than 1 train into a block

TL;DR

A rail signal that lets trains into the block it's an enterance to without making sure it's empty

What?

A new rail signal (or maybe even an option for the current ones) that when a train wants to pass it either lets them pass with no checks or checking if the block has less than n amount of trains in it already.

Why?

It'd be good to put at start of long sections of one way rail with no interruptions to not need to spam rail signals every train length or so along it and not suffer throughput issues from trains taking forever to clear that line.

What if trains are backed up in that block? Should subsequent trains just plow through the first train?

There was a mod like this viewtopic.php?t=110584 , and back then the answer was : yes
