Island base?

Hello again,

Been awhile since I've had time to game and in that time I started a new map to play around with a few things. At any rate, the newest map that I've found very much appears to be on the shore of an ocean, or at the least a massive lake. I have a car but have not been able to drive around it. I've found some curves, but in general i's quite massive and I was trying to build my entire base on a floating island kind of deal.

Any thoughts? I'm sure some of you have done this before, lol. I'm just mining a bunch of stone at the moment and beelining to nuclear before doing anything else.

If it’s that large, it’s probably an ocean rather than a lake, so building around it makes sense instead of trying to go around. For a floating base, you might want to secure landfill production early, otherwise it’ll take a lot of time and resources.
