It's possible to buy Space Age at factorio.com, with no clear explanation that it won't run without factorio.

The Space Age system requirements are silent about needing factorio.

imo, this needs improving and explaining more clearly.

I saw it called an "expansion" several times and that you can "upgrade" an account, and no indication it was an independent game. It also describes it as "continuing" the player's journey.

No argument from me. But including the base game in the expansion system requirements would remove any ambiguity. It's a trivial change, and (I would argue) adds significant clarity.
