Multiplayer - Finished Space Age, my character was lost

I bought Factorio and Space Age on Steam.

After 200+ hours of gameplay, an evening this week I finally finished Factorio: Space Age. It was night, I was playing alone. I published the game.
The day after, I reloaded the game, started multiplayer, played with my son so we could finish the game together. We did, we celebrated. What an adventure!

Then, we decided to continue playing and start harvesting prometheum on the way to the Shattered Planet.
I reloaded the game hosting a multiplayer game. I was met with a horrible surprise: my character was lost, together with the mech armor and all the upgraded staff I crafted. Why?

I searched a bit, in the bug forums I wasn't able to find anything.
ChatGPT somehow knows about it and suggested waiting or logging out and logging in again. I tried, but nothing worked.

Is there anyway to get my character, armor, and equipment back?

Check spelling of name of your character. For example you could use name 'Fanz', when you played this multiplayer game in past, but for recent session you have used 'fanz', that leads to creating a new character. Fix name and you will get back your character.

Nice try, thanks. However, I don't think that's what happened, primarily for the following reasons:

• This happened ONCE in 205h of playtime, exactly after I finished the game in multiplayer

• I logged in via Steam, so I can't change my name, even if I wanted to (at least, I don't know how to do that - I just tried)
