Confirm Keybinding for Numeric Fields
Since the default 'E' to confirm no longer works in numeric input fields (logistic requests, combinator constants, etc) due to the postfix symbols feature (k, m, g, ...), I would like to add a secondary keybinding that uses a modifier key like CTRL+E or CMD+E (on mac) which should not result in a textual input. Currently such a keybinding is ignored (nothing happens) and as there's no way to lose the focus that I'm aware of, that makes one-handed input clunky because I have to reach all the way across the keyboard to hit the enter/return key (or take my hand off the mouse).
In other words, please make CTRL and CMD modifiers ignore text input focus. (Maybe Alt/Option and Shift too?)
(Also it's not just numeric input fields, this would be helpful for train stop naming, blueprints, etc, although I usually already have both hands on the keyboard for those.)
In other words, please make CTRL and CMD modifiers ignore text input focus. (Maybe Alt/Option and Shift too?)

Couldn't you just add E as the alternate for the Enter key?SupplyDepoo wrote: Sun Nov 10, 2024 7:41 pm Since the default 'E' to confirm no longer works in numeric input fields (logistic requests, combinator constants, etc) due to the postfix symbols feature (k, m, g, ...), I would like to add a secondary keybinding that uses a modifier key like CTRL+E or CMD+E (on mac) which should not result in a textual input. There's no "Enter key" function that can be rebound. It seems to be hardcoded, so no.BraveCaperCat wrote: Sun Nov 10, 2024 7:48 pm Couldn't you just add E as the alternate for the Enter key?

Allow Ctrl + E confirm during text input
This might actually be a bug report, but one mildly annoying thing is when typing in a value for something, I will instinctively press E to confirm the value, which does not work as "e" will get typed into the field.
It would be nice if Ctrl + E also worked to confirm, or at least only during text input.
The maybe-bug report is that binding Ctrl + E as a secondary confirm hotkey does not work during text input. In fact, no shortcut involving a letter or number appears to work during text input, even with a modifier like Ctrl or Alt pressed.

Re: Allow Ctrl + E confirm during text input
There is the Enter Button, but that's hardcoded, I guess?
Re: Allow Ctrl + E confirm during text input
The advantage of hitting E in most other situations is that it allows you to keep your hand on the left half of the keyboard.
It's possible to type '2e1' for '20', '2e2' for '200', etc. and being able to finish typing a number without having to reach across to Enter would be handy.

Yes, I know. I often hit enter with the mouse hand. Or click the UI button with the mouse. It already happens automatically without much thinking.Warchamp7 wrote: Sat Nov 29, 2025 5:40 pmThe advantage of hitting E in most other situations is that it allows you to keep your hand on the left half of the keyboard.

Maybe it's possible, that the Enter Key for confirming a textbox also get's customizable?
So, one key for normal confirm and one for Textbox confirm, which then could be bound to f.e. Ctrl+E or Enter
