Request: Mutiple planets survival mode

Post by Green Cat »

This is similar to how Space exploration is. Except, there is no infinite resource aside from mining productivity bonus (and of course, none of the SE tehnology)

The key elements are that everything, including water, is finite

All the planets are, again, just like how space exploration is, limited. Some bigger, some smaller.

And again like how SE is: some have enemies, some don't, others get reinforcement.

For the names of the planets i suggest either either use some fancy pancy names and just add numbers. Or have the ai generate. Of course, both is even better.

For fun: ability to destroy planet. Regadless if it's directly due to explosives, or because you empied the planet of anything it has as such it crumbeled.

And of course, the enemies are extremly agressive exactly because you, via minding, are causing the planet to get destroyed.

Now that i thing about, there is an infinite resource... space asteroids...

For this is more like zone exclusive if not, remove the ores entierly? Or maybe just give them a tiny %, meaning you can still get some, but it will not last = you will need to go to different palnets and you can't except the space platform to get enough resources.

And of course, the more you expand, the more far away are the next destination. But, again, the whole point is, mining productivity and the resource drain.

meaning you will last, it's just that you need to get constantly ready to go to the next one. While also planing how because each planet a different resource. And of course, the more you stay, the more intense the enemies will be. If anything, early game, you will need to go from one planet to another because it's impossible to beat the enemies who get stronger and stronger (bob's enemies would be a perfect exemple).

And of course, exactly because each planet has own resource, this means what tehnology you can research will be also restricted by the choses you make.

And now that i think about it. If the planet gets destroyed (well, also saves UPS), you won't have where to take a "break" to refill (aka you put there storage), so you will need to either not mine the planet till it breaks....at least on planets where there are no enemies, since the one will enemies? well you'll waste more resource then producing, or if you do break the planet, you will need to do longer jurneys.

This mod would also need ajustments for dificulty. Like larger planets, or a tick box "all planets to have enemies". And of course, stuff like solar panels and laser are also questionable except, on the land, you won't have the free time to set up tons of solar panels, and if theenemies are like bob's enemies, then some will be imune to laser.

What i really do suggest not to do, are Vulcanus lava or similar. Aka, if we can't copy paste our "base" from one planet to another, it will ruin the game for many people because one again, due to the enemies, you won't have time to do Aquilo puzzles.

And i will re say the last part because i am NOT suggesting a Space exploration lite. I am suggesting a survival mod. Meaning you do not have the option to take your time. It's similar to how on Vulcanus, you build a mining outpost in a demolisher teritory. With the main difference being that it's not possible to distract the enmies, and even if you kill them, more on the route.

So, the whole "let me copy my base" is actually very important. Because, even if we change the planet, we essentially continue what we did on the last planet. As in, new building, new upgrades. Everything.

While if we can't do the copy paste due to the land (like lava) not allowing it, it will make many people just drop because it's just annoying at one point that you try to build but the enemies just destroy it so you can't explore more.

Plus Rampant already exist and does a good job (well, assusming you do tune up the difficulty) at making sure the enemies destroy what you build.

So again, i am not trying to suggest a muty planet rampant or space exploration lite. But something that is similar but a 3rd version. A survival mod. The planet crush. The enemies are difficult. Resources are limited. And you don't know how long you will be able to keep going.

Heck, to actually take this survavil further: 1 life type.

NO remote view. None (not counting map view, ideea is you can't do anything unless you do it via character). You travel on a space ship? if you get off that ship won't be operational (aside from self defence). You left the planet? You can't do anything anymore on that planet unless you (the character) go back on that planet. Aka, miner, defense, and more will continue. But if something goes wrong, something gets destroyed, you can't even check what it is unless you go back.

What i mean is: if the "hardcore" mod tick box is enabeled, you die, game over, you get a score or something. This can be used as a challange.

If this tick box is off. Then something different will happen. Each time you land on a planet for the 1st time (similar to how in the DLC we get an 1st trick autosave), an auto save will be generated. If you die, that save will be loaded insted of you respawning.

Of course, this also to be a tick box option but it should be on by default exactly because that's the ideea of survival.

Lastly, there is really no end.

As an exemple, each time you destroy a planet, the enemies to get a damage bonus (similar to infinite research).

Meaning it's really a race against time, as well as a challange for your planing, for how long you will last.

Because even with infinite research for productivity and damage, the distance and the enemy damage will keep up with you untill you'll either run out of resources (btw, if the space ship has a nuclear reactor = no more juice (resources) = boom = game over), or the enemy is so strong that you can't beat them anymore.
