Japan is developing real life railguns

Post by quigonquinn0 »

Cool read and really cool video. I know the railguns in the game are theoretically possible, just never seen them real.

The article was saying how they are working towards sizing them down to fit on warships. Since currently the only functional ones are massive. This is the part that's new afaik
I didn't make it clear in my OP, but that's what I was talking about. They making railguns that are very similar to in the game.

I’ve only ever thought of railguns as sci-fi or video game stuff, so seeing Japan actually developing one feels surreal. The idea of using them against hypersonic missiles is both mind-blowing and a little scary. Curious to see how far they can push the tech in terms of range and power supply.
