+1 as well, I made an account just to bump this. Spent so long setting up a quick bar (which the game default allows you to set 24 at max) only to find it reset when I went to play a different multiplayer map with friends. Never took a screenshot of the game before

I'm looking forward to see: "Fixed for 2.0" here

I don't even bother using shortcuts since they just get messed up so much. If there's one I can't remember the control for, I just open the list and click it through that. With basically all of them hidden in the list (the bar is ugly otherwise), I tend to forget they even exist.

I bumped this in 2022 and I'm doing it again because I get weekly questions from mod users looking for a control that we moved to a shortcut.

Shortcuts are an awesome feature with amazing modding potential but become useless unless you keep every modpack in a separate folder.
My mods: Multiple Unit Train Control, RGB Pipes, Shipping Containers, Rocket Log, Smart Artillery Wagons.
Maintainer of Auto Deconstruct, Cargo Ships, Vehicle Wagon, Honk, Shortwave.

+ Always need to re-bump until accepted or denied as I am reminded each time I switch saves or MP.

Remember order of shortcut bar when mods are disabled

Post by Techjar »

It gets quite annoying having to reorganize my shortcut buttons every time I remove and later re-add some mods. Would be awesome if the game remembered the entries in the player-data.json instead of just clobbering them. I know I can make a backup of the file and restore it, but this is quite inconvenient, especially since I have to copy it to a weird specific place in the Steam userdata folder due to how Steam works.

Ah! I didn't find this thread, my bad. I did try to search but nothing similar came up. It's not very easy to use.
