As I wrote, it's been almost a year. There are many mods that show that you don't need to go to space to have access to everything (aside from space related) the Space age DLC addes. Everything on Nauvis is one of the best exemple of what I mean. Aka, you have everything but don't need to leave the planet.

The reason for my post, request, and compain is the following: many of the overhaul mods are not compatible with space age. As such myself and other need to install mods that add quality even without space age mod active, mods that add the buildins as a "stand alone". And the list goes on. Many of the overhaul mods (and of course not all), you can only play if you disable space age. But if the space part could be disabeled, and the buildings can be added as a separate mod (meaning 4 insted of the 3), we could play with the stuff the PAID dlc addes without having compatibility issues.

Aka I am asking the devs, why do we need to add mods that add quality, mods that add standalone building, mods that allow us to use space age content without space part. The elevated rails works with almost all overhaul mods. I say almost vecause some needs you to play the 1.1 version of the game.

Ideea being: just like how elevated rails are a separate mod, can we please have the same for the other buildings? Heck, all you need to do is one mod that is incompatible with space age mod. What do I mean?

It's simple: to avoid complication.

You either have the space age mod enable, the new Mod enable (and of course, both off) but you can't have both on at the same time due to incompatibility.

The space age mod on = exactly what we have now.

The new mod (no space) on = nothing added in game however, if one goesto mod settings OR before start of game pages -> many tick boxes. This allow you to add anything the DLC has BUT no space exploring part. The tick boxes include adding stack inserter, any building added via dlc (additional tick box if eggs are needed as ingredient or if they get replaced.... just like some mods did), enemies to show up on Nauvis, the land areas (aka vulcan).... because again, there are at least 3 mods that do exactly this, they add everything on one single surface. Heck let me not even start with the mod that adds a nightmare planet with everything on that planet.

Ideea is: why do we need mods for every last thing when this is a paid DLC and we should have option to do this without mods?

Especially since many of the mods can messe up, or not compatible. Like the stand alone mod to add quality without the quality mod (official wube) being on, well this works, so you have quality even if you play overhaul mods that don't allow the quality mod (official wube), but this also means that many mods related to quality won't work because they need the oficial quality mod to be on. And we can't have that one one because it depends on space age mod.... when so many other mods showed that all you need to do is change the recepy and no need for all this fuss.

So again, I wish to point out, we have elevated rails as a separate mod, that we can use for almost all overhaul mods, but we can't use quality and we can't get access to anythign else, exactly because they are all in one single pot. Please create (even if it's a separate page) a mod that allow us to get access to all the stuff, even without the space part, just like how many of the mods that add stand alone or everything on one planet showed that it's possible to do. Something that I am 100% the devs understand even better how it works then I do.

It is trivially simple (SIMPLE, NOT EASY) just by remove incompatible mark in overhaul mods' info.json, and fix all the conflicting bugs like try to edit technology effects by directly indexing while space age removed or moved recipe into another technology etc, To me it is more like the overhaul mods' at fault, to make it space age compatible, they really only need to check the edits base-data-updates.lua made and only applied compatibility change if space age mod exist.

and I request you to remember one thing: Space exploration mod mark incompatible with angelbobs mod despite they do can work together, I think some Overhaul might already did those compatibility changes just that they are still playtesting until they have confident they wont break at both base and dlc, then it will unmark, and maybe they want to do a full polished overhaul for both base game and space age ;)
