[2.0.66] Error saving: "Failed to close write stream: Writing in the zip failed: No error"

Post by lanrete »

I was originally playing on macbook (M4 chips if that matters), after certain point I couldn't save my map, both autosave and manual save failed with the above error messages.
I ported the save file to a windows platform, saving worked for couple hours than run into the same problems. Disk is not full on neither of the computer.
Saving into a different file does not help, reloading does not help either.
While retrying I once run into a error message saying mod factoryplanner is causing the issue, after disableing the mod it still doesn't work

Save file:
SA Mac.zip
(14.85 MiB) Downloaded 15 times
Log file:
factorio-previous.log
(30.5 KiB) Downloaded 18 times

Can you please provide the latest autosave that worked correctly? If you load that one, how long until the next autosave fails to save? I'm trying to reproduce it on my end but "wait a while and it stops working" is unknown. Likely you're doing other stuff between loading that save and the (from the log file, almost 4 hours later) auto-save failing.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

Unfortunately non of my autosave seems to be working, i.e for all of these 3 auto saves, I loaded them, trying to save the map, I get the same error message, I'm still uploading all 3 of my autosave just incase these might be helpful

Oldest autosave (45h 10min gameplay):
_autosave2.zip
(14.75 MiB) Downloaded 12 times
2nd oldest (45h 15min gameplay):
_autosave3.zip
(14.76 MiB) Downloaded 12 times
latest autosave (45h 20min gameplay):
_autosave1.zip
(15.41 MiB) Downloaded 11 times
===EDIT BELOW===
Even my old save is not working either, it seems like the error is not exactly save-specific

Are you saying: if you load any of those auto-saves and *immediately* manually re-save it with a new name to fails to save?

Oh, I see now. Your write-data directory is full. At program startup it has 27 megabytes free.

yes, that is the case

I do have plenty of free space available on my SSD, what could be causing my write-directory to be full? And what can I do to double check/release some space if necessary?

The write directory is reporting as: A:/Users/Lanrete/AppData/Roaming/Factorio

I’ve fixed the error for the next release. It will now report the proper out of disk space error in this case.
