Gleba "growth? = prevent build

Don't know how to use a machine? Looking for efficient setups? Stuck in a mission?

Gleba "growth? = prevent build

Post by Green Cat »

I don't know if this is a real bug or just stuff that should be improved, so please bear with me. (also NO mod, so it's a vanilla stuff)

I pasted a massive train network from Nauvis (just rails, poles, and roboport, city block style). After a few hours I was wondering how comes there where random location that where never finished despite 98% of the massive (i do mean massive) rail network was constructed, have all items, including landfill (yes, I set rock on gleba to max), yet no progress, no nothing. As I used a spidertron to inspect, i noticed rocks, trees, and similar natural elements. The moment i deconstructed it, the spidertron's bots removed it, and in an instant later, put land fill and rails. I check over on other areas, same issues, including for poles and such.

Eseentiall, when I build the blueprint, foreced and everything, but then, hours later, either the plants growth on their own, or even migrate? or simple the forced build is not working on them (i tried, there is no deconstruction triggered despite said plant or rock needs to be removed before build), but some of them just don't get marked for deconstruction unless you manually deconstruct them (like doing a red deconstruction planer, tick remove trees and rocks only, works perfectly to "solve" this issue).

Also i noticed that each time i tried to construct AFTER removing the obstacle, i always get a message saying i can't build on green or whatever coulur mash. Meaning I assume the issues comes from the fact that said tiles is overloaded? Aka add landfill to cover an existing land and NOT water, but a fertile, gleba, land. So somehow this triggers this issue?

As far as I remember, the chunks need to be uncovered if you force place a blueprint and want automatic deconstruction to happen. For any hidden chunk, ghosts that would collide with obstacles aren't placed and no obstacles aren't marked for deconstruction. This will happen for parts of the blueprint that remain red even if you use the double force mode.
