Drain fulgora = more space

Post by Green Cat »

As title says. As i go with the tank (do people seriosly not bring a tank when they 1st land on fulgora?), just like with Aquilo, i don't see any reason why to start in the starting area (again, tank = you can go around without fear of death as long as you bring repair stuff..... or put on the armour equipment.... because, just like with armours, the tank keeps all it's equipment, reason why i said: do seriosly people not use??? remote control, personal roboport that you can use to collect items or to feed others via the remote view add items in boxes inventory, aka when the contructor bots will fill them up via the tank's inventory = you only need to land to set up the tank and manual mining research, after? you can leave fulgora forever due to the tank being there, who won't die as easy as you) i just keep going and going via the tank because there is nothing stopping me from not doing this.

This is why i want to suggest the drain up fulgora for more space. While the deep areas can't be drained, the more less deep, via pump, to drain out slowly (please don't make it tile by tile but as an area to reduce manual chaning drain position.... or add some new machine, robot, android, that goes around to place the drainers, pipe, and so on). This will allow for a more dynamic gameplay on fulgora. It will not be anymore "there is nothing to do" exactly because you will have tons of stuff to do. From exploring the map to see where its the best sport to actually do the draining (because again, 2 levels, one can be drained, the other? you need foundation form aquilo). Meaning the whole island and need of train will still exist. If anything, we will need to even further procede with managing materials if we can't get rid of any of the items except via recycling or using them.

And as I said, this ideea came to me as i was going further away from the starting location, i mean, why would i not? there is more resources on the large island, meaning i don't need to have a tens of milion little island when i can start on a very large one with tons of resources that will last me enough until i can easily expand to other large island via trains. While with the drain fulgora ideea, the main part is exactly that you can't place a miner, or otherwise, (except starting location or maybe every small islands), exactly because you need to drain the area around you. Meaning you can freely go around, but you won't have any space where to build, similar to Aquilo to a degree except not that bad.

BONUS: random fire starting due to lighthing X Oil....... Seriosly, why is Fulgora so death? there is lighthing that is almost harmless due to protection everywhere and the lighthing can't destroy the towers. And there is oil everywhere but no fire risk? No smoke risk? No nothing? I mean, sure, again, like with Vulcanus, add areas so that the starting area is safe. But otherwise? essentially the reverse from Aquilo, everything is at risk of buring, but not the building, but the land around you. Making the idea of draining oil even more important. Since no oil no fire. Regarding the smoke, can you imagen that the smoke due to fire covers the screen and we can't see anything? yep. As I said, there are so many ways to mess around. Like that smoke also might (random change) disable the electric towers meaning lighting will hit buildings, until we repair the tower (aka remove smoke that got into the system)

Hope this helps because I do love factorio and I'm sad when 90% of the joy is from mods because the game itself is just the core (a core that honestly, i can't see any game doing better then Factorio, thank you devs for this amazing game!)

This is kind of what better rail supports and, later, foundation are for; they make building on Fulgora easier. Why is another mechanic needed?
