So I haven't been following the amazing game for a year or so; only downloading latest update every few months but not the forum, so some suggestions are already or to some extent implemented, at least in some mod.

make armor equipment be orientation-vague, or rotatable in other wordsWhat?
I'm thinking of using capacity or weight as a size measure more than laying out pieces around; as such, highly expect this to be a mod as it violates the vanilla feeling of the gamethe grid would still be displayed (think of an arbitrarily large grid like a math xy thing), but max size is the same
equipment of unequal dimensions may look something funny in the end, but it should lock the orientation of those whose width and height are identical, like laser turrets should not rotate.
