I completed a vanilla play through last year. Just started a new Krastorio 2 game and absolutely can't figure out how to start completing the technology tree. Automation Core shows queued but nothing is advancing. It shows the cost but doesn't show what i need to complete the tech.

Obviously my brain has taken some serious damage this last year as I can't believe im stuck here.

You need to put basic tech cards in the crashed ship part that acts as a lab. You use it long enough to research the ability to make real labs (which are then replaced later too).

There's 4 or so crashed ship bits that act like assemblers, and one that acts as a generator. I'd toss up a screenshot but that area got removed when I redid smelting and needed room.


If you mined that part, I think you need to restart because there's no way of replacing it.
