I'm so excited about this that I created an account just to share it. I believe I've created something amazing and quite clever that I haven't seen elsewhere (though I'm not sure where to find the best blueprints—advice on where to look for advanced Factorio designs would be appreciated).
I have about 400 hours in Factorio, playing since before the Space Age DLC and completing the base game. When Space Age launched, I reached Fulgora, then Gleba, but eventually quit because I felt overwhelmed. A few days ago, I returned with a more patient approach, trying to enjoy every moment without anxiety.
Upon reaching Fulgora (where I am now), I decided to understand how circuits work. Despite my computer science background, it was challenging. My first project was to create an automatic system to improve product quality—something scalable, blueprintable with only one parameter (the object to refine), and impossible to get stuck. After about 24 hours of gameplay, I succeeded!

I haven't found this solution elsewhere, but as mentioned, I don't know all the resources available. I'd like to think it's an original creation that could be useful to others. Either way, I'm happy to share it, and any suggestions, ideas, or improvements would be greatly welcomed!
Here is the blueprint:

I also created a version for the electromagnetic plant using the same concept.

When placed, the system starts requesting items through the request chest for quality improvement (I haven't researched epic or legendary quality yet, but the system is configured to handle them—just needs the appropriate splitter filter settings). The circuit network reads the chest contents and sets the crafting recipe to ALWAYS produce the highest quality possible with available materials, preventing it from getting stuck. My biggest challenge was designing a memory cell that allows the system to wait for loading to finish before changing the recipe again. I case it did not set the recipe at start turn on and off the constant combinator.
