After starting the game, I tried to download the mod "Helmod: Assistant for planning your factory", the download started, but did not rise above 0%, after a minute the error
"helmod: Download failed: Operation too slow. Less than 1 bytes/sec transferred the last 60 seconds" appeared.
When loading other mods the same thing happens, there is an internet connection, reinstalling the game does not help.

Re: Help with downloading mods
This sounds similar to 128624; but with Logs attached!262.533 Error ModPortal.cpp:585: Mod portal API call failed: status 520, error: Operation too slow. Less than 1 bytes/sec transferred the last 60 seconds

HTTP Status 520 is a custom code implemented by Cloudflare for error handling, which is a Service that Factorio uses for their websites. The reported behavior suggests that there is an issue transferring data somewhere in between the Original location (on Wube Software's server), Cloudflare's network, or possibly the connection with your ISP. Assuming that your internet access works normally otherwise, it is probably not an issue with your Modem or WiFi router - but you can try restarting them anyway.
Is it only this Mod, or all Mods? Have you ever been able to access Mods in-game from this Internet connection? Can you download it directly from the Mod Portal website ?

Re: Help with downloading mods
I tried to download 5-6 more mods, the result is the same, but it gives 3 different errors.
Half a year ago I downloaded the DLC and mods, played a little and abandoned the game, a week ago I came back, played with the previous mods and now I decided to download more, but it started giving this error.
There were no problems before.
Mods from the site are downloaded without problems.

Re: Help with downloading mods
Bizarre! Near Version 2.0.30 some changes were made to TLS Verification in the Game. There have been other "Error 520" reports, but with not-the-same circumstances. Those three error messages all appearing together suggest that the Connection may be getting closed by your ISP, due to a TLS Inspection Policy which Factorio cannot support - but your Browser does ? Who is your ISP ?pusto_film wrote: Wed May 07, 2025 11:59 pm I tried to download 5-6 more mods, the result is the same, but it gives 3 different errors.

You can place the Mod.Zip files into the mod folder in your User Data Directory manually.
Good Luck!

Your internet connection is being tampered with by your government; install a VPN.
This is one of many cases of collateral blocking, when unrelated services are affected due to ongoing anti-circumvention efforts against resources hiding behind CDNs.

Thank you, manual downloading helped, but it's a pity that such a convenient tool does not work

Complain to your ISP & Government - they are interfering & monitoring your Communication.pusto_film wrote: Thu May 08, 2025 10:24 am Thank you, manual downloading helped, but it's a pity that such a convenient tool does not work

Re: Help with downloading mods
Can you go to any major website and inspect TLS certificate? Is it being cracked open and another, illegitimate cert is being put in place by your ISP? Essentially man-in-the-middle attack.pusto_film wrote: Thu May 08, 2025 10:24 am Thank you, manual downloading helped, but it's a pity that such a convenient tool does not work
Can you try Chrome browser? This one allegedly complains if you go to Google.com and browser receives different TLS certificate than Google hardcoded.
Re: Help with downloading mods
This is not a mitm. The blocked connection simply stops flowing after 2-3 packets, no rst or anything. I don't get why you care? The cause and solution are already provided.
Re: Help with downloading mods
I thought this is MITM cert, not just simple blocking TLS connections to "unwanted" countries or domains. Anyway, sucks to be in that country, wherever that is.atomizer wrote: Fri May 09, 2025 12:31 pm This is not a mitm. The blocked connection simply stops flowing after 2-3 packets, no rst or anything.
