Reproduction:
1. Go in editor mode
2. Build Asteroid collector
3. Set filter for any asteroid chunk
4. Hover over the filter and press Q
Nothing happens.
I would instead expect, that the cursor is set to the corresponding asteroid chunk. I guess the underlying issue is that the filter is set to the entity and not the item. But if I set the target filter of a gun turret to a cargo waggon entity, the pipette works and the cursor is set to the cargo waggon item.

Editor Mode won’t let you choose a non-buildable Items while you’re in the Entity-placing tab. Switch to the “None” tab, then re-pipette the Asteroid Chunk. You should get an Item-in-hand/in-inventory (not a Ghost like in Remote View mode).
Good Luck!

I tested it just again and it doesn't work regardless of which tab I'm in. And it doesn't work in remote view either.eugenekay wrote: Sun Apr 27, 2025 2:11 am Editor Mode won’t let you choose a non-buildable Items while you’re in the Entity-placing tab. Re: [2.0.45] Can't pipette asteroid chunk with Q from asteroid collector filter
I stand corrected - this does not work on Asteroid Collectors! Pipetteing on the Asteroid Collector does not yield an Asteroid Entity (ghost or Item), no matter which way I manipulate the Editor Mode controls. I suspect this is because the Asteroid Collector is actually a "Gun Turret Wearing a Hat" (try Ctrl-F searching for "Turret").... the "Asteroid Chunk Filter" is choosing which type of "Enemy Chunk" that should be "Shot" by the arms.... reverse-producing the corresponding type of "Item Chunk" that can be handled by an Inserter/placed on belts/referred to in Recipe/Signals.ickputzdirwech wrote: Mon Apr 28, 2025 3:13 pmI tested it just again and it doesn't work regardless of which tab I'm in. The behavior described above does work for Combinators: Pipetteing the Asteroid Chunk signal yields an Asteroid Chunk in-hand in Editor mode. I most commonly use the "Set Filters" mode on the Collectors, which does translate the "Item Chunk" signal correcly to pick Chunks...

Thanks for the report. This was fixed as a side effect of fixing this 120416 which is pending a release.
