Reproduce:
  1. Build a red belt leading into the yellow underground as shown in the picture.

  2. Pick an entity (like an inserter) and super force build it over the input underground belt.
  3. Observe: it builds red underground instead of yellow, breaking the chain.

Expected:
I want the red belt to be replaced by yellow underground. This way, I am always sure I do have the underground, as I have destroyed it by building over it.

An alternative I have considered is to replace the whole underground with a red underground. This would break more things more often and I might not have it on person.

Additional Context:

I tested super force building in other configurations. Besides this, it works as expected. Namely, I tested it on the edge of different belts. The correct underground is built:

Note I cannot take a screenshot (with PrintScreen or F12) when I am super force building with ctrl + shift. How would you do that screenshot?

Still an issue as of 2.0.44.

Thanks for the report however I don't consider this worth changing. This is in my opinion a classic case of "the game is trying to be too smart" and the super-force-build feature simply won't work for this case.

Maybe one of the other developers disagrees - but given none of them have touched this in the last 6~ months - I'm moving this to won't fix.

This a good case of ambiguous user intention. There are good reasons for the user to want either red or yellow undergrounds. The game should not try to guess which, and should instead try to make it obvious to the player what they need to fix manually. The current behavior does a decent job of it, so I don't disagree with leaving that way.

The absolute safest action would be to not change the red belt at all, and let the user decide what to do. A possible rule would be that super-force-building is only allowed to build a single underground belt if it connects to one of the undergrounds that was disconnected by the same super force build operation. There would still be ways to confuse it, but there would be fewer cases where it changes something that doesn't need changing.
