[2.0.43] Science production graph shows no progress erroneously

Place for things which are bugs but we have no idea how to solve them. Things related to hardware, libraries, strange setups, etc.

[2.0.43] Science production graph shows no progress erroneously

Post by teemu »

In my save, the research progress is somehow showing as 0 per minute and remaining research time as infinity, even though research is clearly progressing.
It happens with this modded save only, and if I just restart the level with the same mods and build some labs with the editor the problem does not appear. So there seems to be something specific about this save that breaks this.

(Note that I've stripped extra mods from the save; in the actual game I'm experimenting with qualities with a mod I haven't released (yet), which is why legendary is already researched even though I haven't been to Aquilo yet.)

A save of where I restarted the level and put some labs using editor, in which case the science progress graph does work.

Your save file is corrupted. There is a variable which accumulates amount of research to be reported inside of the statistics however it contains a value of -NaN, and because that value is not positive, the research progress is not reported into production statistics.

If you take a look at the nauvis production statistics and look for science in 250h range, you may notice this artifact, an unusually high spike in the research about 108h ago. If you know how to reproduce that issue please provide a reproduction steps but given all the hints the issue looks to be in failing hardware.

Save file with the -NaN cleared, but i kept the flow statistics as they were:
