The map revelation size is currently a square. When you move on the map, a square sized window is made visible as you move along.
Since I have a widescreen, that feels very odd, since I can see much more of the map than is actually uncovered on the map view.
It would be nice, if the uncover-area would fit the actual screen are. I figure that this wouldn't be very complicated to do.

I also have a ultra-wide and it does feel weird to see uncovered fog of war, but I think the character's position is what determines what activates a new chunk.
Re: Map revelation size matching screen size
Are you suggesting changing what the player can see or what is revealed on the map? If the latter, I don't see that happening because screen resolution affecting which chunks are revealed could be problematic for a few reasons (e.g. weird effects in multiplayer). If the former, that would just mean people would be able to see less, and would reduce what is visible by a lot on ultrawide monitors.
There are 10 types of people: those who get this joke and those who don't.

Yeah, the square is terrible.
The map around the character should open round, according to the radius of view, equidistant from the eyes (so to speak, with the accuracy of a tile, not a pixel). And at night this radius of revealing territory should be smaller (unless equipped with a night vision device).
