TL;DR
Prevent equipment loss if an item with an equipment grid (armors, vehicles) by making it impossible to use them in craftingWhat?
Currently, using power armor MK2 in mech armor recipe, recycling anything with an equipment grid will permanently delete the equipment inside of the item, this is true even if you cancel the craft midway through (I've tested it)A few possible solutions, the best one is the title and TLDR
Solution 1:
Prevent items with equipment in their grid from being used in crafting or recycling
Pros: most straight forward, likely very easy to implement
Cons: could cause an additional calculation for all items due to needing to scan for an item with a grid
Solution 2:
Put all equipment in the excess outputs in the assembler or recycler
Pros: does not delete the equipment, and allows for the automation of it
Cons: may not be possible with the current engine
Solution 3: Exclusively for Mech Armor crafting
Port forward all equipment in the power armor mark 2 into the new mech armor grid
Pros: incredibly intuitive and convenient
Cons: does not affect recycler issue, and may also not be possible with the current engine
