Hello Factorio Team and Community,

First of all, congratulations on the incredible success of the Space Age DLC! It was an amazing addition to the game, and it truly expanded the horizons of what’s possible in Factorio. Now that we’ve reached for the stars, I believe it’s time to dive into uncharted waters—literally.

I’d like to suggest a new DLC theme focused on seas, water, and underwater exploration . This could open up a whole new dimension of gameplay mechanics and challenges. Here are some ideas to consider:

Underwater Bases and Factories : Introduce mechanics for building structures underwater or even fully submerged bases. Players could harness resources from the ocean floor while managing oxygen supply, pressure, and other environmental factors.
New Resources and Technologies : Add unique resources like coral, rare minerals, or thermal vents that provide energy. These could unlock advanced technologies, such as sonar systems, hydrodynamic turbines, or submersible robots.
Marine Life and Challenges : Incorporate marine ecosystems with fish, algae farms, or even hostile sea creatures that pose threats to underwater operations. Players might need to develop defenses or find ways to coexist with these entities.
Water-Based Transportation : Expand transportation options with boats, submarines, or floating platforms. This could create opportunities for trade routes, naval combat (optional), or transporting goods across large bodies of water.
Environmental Hazards : Include challenges like storms, currents, or underwater earthquakes that affect production and logistics. Managing these hazards would add depth to the gameplay.
Storyline Integration : Perhaps there’s an alien aquatic species lurking beneath the surface, requiring players to research, negotiate, or defend against them as part of the campaign.
A sea-themed DLC could bring a refreshing change to the game while maintaining Factorio’s core focus on automation, optimization, and problem-solving. It would also allow players to explore a completely different biome, offering endless possibilities for creativity and expansion.
