[2.0.42] Belt Compression Issue with Big Mining Drill

We are aware of them, but do not have solutions that don't cause other issues. They go here in order not to take space in the main bug thread list.

When a Big Mining Drill can output over half a belt of items, it sometimes won't fill a whole stacked belt, even though It shows that the drill is working the entire time. There is space on the belt so the spliter draws from both sides.

I have the same problem, one big mining drill outputting more than 120/s (but less than approx 177/s) can't fill half a green belt.
This is a new game, in the editor, version 2.0.42, no mods, all tech researched, mining prod 40:

I don’t see anything about this changing. Likely the issue lies with how fast a belt moves in a given tick, and how frequently a drill produces more per tick. Some ticks will make one ore and others two, and the drill can only ever output one ore in a given tick as the belt moves.

The status of the drill will always be a “best guess” because it’s shown *after* the drill has updated and is guessing about its state to show in the tooltip.

Moving to minor issues. If one of the other developers wants to poke at it they can, but there’s nothing new here over 1.1 drill behavior.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.
