When trying to load all recent manual saves and autosaves on my SA game, I get the following error:

Corrupt map: unknown entity prototype ID 34720. File has likely been corrupted due to failing hardware.

None of the recent saves will load, I verified all files through steam, restarted my computer, and ran a scan on my hard drives. I'm running a base SA game, no mods, windows 10.

The falling hardware referenced in the message is your RAM, CPU, or motherboard. The game became corrupted in memory while you were playing, and the corrupted data was written to all the save files. Memtest86 is the first diagnostic to run. Only way to rescue that save file is by hexediting the file, if the devs are feeling generous one of them will take a look

Thanks, I ran a bunch of tests and both of my RAM sticks were failing badly

We put in some older sticks my boyfriend had laying around, and they are working fine until some new ones get here. They were about 6 years old, CPU and motherboard seem ok for now.

I have a non-corrupted save from my first trip to the solar system edge from a little over a week ago. So I'll probably just revert to that and continue playing.
