Problem started occurring after updating to the latest version. When there is a lot of text on the screen some of it does not render. When there are a lot of sprites on the screen glitching occurs as attached. Lower, or different graphics settings does not seem to affect the problem. I have also updated my graphics drivers, and the problem persists.
GPU: NVIDIA RTX A1000 6GB

Are you able to test loading an older version of the game with the same save file and seeing if it happens there as well? I also noticed in the log file you've forced OpenGL - is there any reason for that? I recommend switching back to DirectX since it's faster and more reliable on Windows.

How strange, I do not recall ever changing that setting?I also noticed in the log file you've forced OpenGL
It did however solve the problem.

I also encountered, by all appearances, this exact issue. I was about to create a "WTF is happening" post when I was fortunate enough to stumble across this thread. Like OP, setting force-opengl=false fixed it. I had the same blacking out of the background beyond a certain zoom level, and the scrambled/missing text in GUI dialog boxes. To add some more color to this post for anyone who finds it in the future, my title screen got really wacky after the game had been running for some time. This was after several load/quit attempts with existing saves.

This sounds like a bug in the nvidida drivers. Given we have changed nothing and it works with DirectX but not OpenGL.
