Brush deconstruction tool

Post by erkki772 »

Like making floor, but deconstruction. Swipe away some parts without limit of square area. I think it would be less heavy compared to big square deconstruction

I don't understand how it would be easier to use than, e.g. a filtered deconstruction planner used on a "small" square or several "small" squares.

Let's say i have some diagonal stuff and only some parts need to be deleted. It would allow better deconstruction there. Or round. There's been tons of times i spam delete stuff in smaller area and brush tool could've helped there. Not everything is perfect square in game. Like rails

As a big fan of Rail World map, I'd strongly agree with OP.
After a mine depletion,
- I just want to:
get my electric mining drills, furnaces, railways back for further use
- I don't want to:
cut trousands of trees with the railway together
get fishes in the water with the railway together

I think something like this might be great for clearing forest for a diagonal rail line. It's easy for me to do cutting for horizontal or vertical, but diagonal is a pain.

A filtered deconstruction planner is your friend. Set it up to exclude trees, cliffs, etc. (or if you have few enough types of things to pick up, set it up to only include those things).

I see. I misunderstood the floor reference as wanting to deconstruct only tiles in a manner similar to manual tiles building.

This could be accomplished by using super-force building a ghost of an entity unlikely to exist in the network, for example an epic Cryogenic plant, as the brush to mark stuff for deconstruction, then remove all plant ghosts with one filtered decon planner.

Oh that helps. Thanks!
