Lost my body in space?!

Was on vulcanis, hopped on my spaceship to Nav.. err home planet. Get home and I can't get off the ship. There is no body icon, it shows in map view that I'm on the ship. No button highlights that I can hop down to the planet..

What can I do? What info. can I post here that would help solve this?

• Looked at Vulcanis, I'm not there.
• In map view I see my name on the ship
• In person view It does not show my person on the ship.
• No button appears to allow me to drop to the planet.
• The ship IS parked at the home planet. Checked, flew away and back again.

Help?

Your Save file would be the most helpful for debugging the situation; you can Attach the Zip in a Reply here.

If you just want to respawn your character using Console Commands (this will disable Achievements for your save), try running:

Code: Select all

/c game.player.character.destroy()
/c game.player.create_character()

Thanks for the kill/respawn commands.

How does one find the save files on a Mac? I can't even find them searching on the save name.

According to https://wiki.factorio.com/Application_directory, savefiles look to be at "~/Library/Application Support/factorio/saves".

Also a screenshot of the platform you're on might be useful, to rule out UI issues related to screen resolution and/or locale (e.g. similar to 119274 "Cancel landing" button barelly visible on Russian locale).

Sadly that location seems to be out of date. There IS an application support directory that is pretty well hidden. But sadly no factorio stuff in there.

Is there a command line command to move a character somewhere?

Well the destroy & create character command ended up giving me a body but it was running around on my ship. Teleporting just moved it around on the ship. Teleporting to Fulgora though.. Suddenly gave me a "return to planet" button. And that was able to pop me out of the ship and back to Nauvis.

Whew!

But it wiped out my Achievement things. Oh well..
