problem with tank cars

Post by deadyoukai »

I have a problem with the tank cars, I need to bring lubricant to my base and I can't because they don't finish loading and the loading pauses, does anyone know why this happens?

You cannot have part of the train on a curve.

Two separate issues here, from what I can tell.
The first is that you have four chem plants trying to fill four tank cars without a buffer - that's going to take a long time once the train shows up. It looks there isn't any lubricant in your pipes between the plants and pumps, it's getting pumped into the train immediately.
The second is that your last tank car isn't on flat track, if you look close you can see none of the pumps have attached to the top graphically. You need the curve to happen farther left.

I would add a couple tanks to build your lube up, so when the train comes you'll have something to fill with. I'd also reduce to one single tank car, four cars of lube is quite a lot.

Light oil/petroleum gas storage tanks for second, third, and fourth refinery look to be full.
Fourth lubricant chemplant's output is not connected to train station's pipeline.
I am not 100% sure, but looking at the map it seems first, third and fifth pumpjack are not connected to the crude oil pipeline, so they likely stopped working, and are not contributing to production.
Second pumpjack looks connected to second refinery only (which does not work due to full storage tanks).
Similarly fourth pumpjack looks connected to fourth refinery only.

On the production side, a recommendation could be to join pipelines, so all pumpjacks can output their crude oil to all refineries.
Similarly, have four joined pipelines for heavy oil, light light, petroleum gas, and lubricant (this one is almost joined).

But the most important thing, as mentioned in the other thread, is to have a use for light light and petroleum gas.
If you've chosen to process crude oil at the oil field, that could mean to transport light oil and petroleum gas to the base via train as well.
As different wagons can hold different cargo, you can choose to dedicate a wagon for each fluid.
This complicates the train schedule a little, as it will again happen that some fluids will be full while other are empty, so a simple "Full cargo inventory" condition will not be enough.

Note the usage of some map overlays, which may help visualize what fluid pipes have and where they go.
