It's my first playthrough with Space Age. Gleba is the first planet I researched. I have no logistics network on Nauvis because I wanted to play without it. I traveled to Gleba and tried a lot of things, not realizing that asteroids can come from behind while the space platform was stationary. So now I'm on Gleba, can't remote control Nauvis, space platform is stuck (not that it matters) and the enemies on Gleba attack again and again and destroy everything.
I can't even produce enough iron to make yellow ammunition. The range of turrets is less than the attack range of these ranged 5 leg enemies. The big ones just go over everything and destroy it.
Is there a solution to this or do I have to restart?
Am I stuck on Gleba?
Re: Am I stuck on Gleba?
the game creates an autosave on your first trip to a new planet. maybe start over from there?
Re: Am I stuck on Gleba?
You mean _autosave1, 2 and 3? Those are overwritten after 15 minutes (5 min autosave interval).

No, there is a separate dedicated autosave for each trip to a new planet.T3rm1 wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 8:40 pm You mean _autosave1, 2 and 3? Those are overwritten after 15 minutes (5 min autosave interval).

Not stuck. What you need to do is scrounge together the materials to make a Tank. Put rocket fuel in it and either yellow or red ammo. Now you have the mobility and firepower required to destroy egg rafts and put an end to the harassment. In fact, you may want to make more than one Tank, and park them at various locations, and remote drive the nearest Tank when enemies turn up, since turret based defense takes a bit to make work.
Drive around harvesting buttloads of iron and copper ore.
Now should you happen to have gone to Gleba before unlocking the Tank and are unable to research it on Gleba the situation is a lot worse. However it is possible to use a turret based defense, you just use a solid wall of gun turrets going all the way around your farm, eventually the strafers get bored of staying out of range and wander into range and get gunned down, don't do Gleba with no logistic network, you need construction bots to repair the damage.
Alternatively you can manually plant seeds in fertile soil and that lets you grow and harvest fruit without infrastructure and thus without attracting pentapod attack (as attack groups require a building to act as a focal point for their attack, no building = no attack). It may be tedious but you can definitely progress to a rocket silo and launching repair materials for the platform then leaving and not coming back until you have better military options.
That said, I'd also definitely be considering loading the autosave. Gleba isn't that fun for the inexperienced.

Re: Am I stuck on Gleba?
Shouldnt you be getting attacks only near the plant harvesting areas? Its where the pollution is coming from. If you build your factory in a cleared area away from fruit harvesting, you should be getting next to 0 attacks on the factory itself.
Re: Am I stuck on Gleba?
Is there a way to get more seeds? I always run out of them. One tree should give back one seed in theory, right? For me that doesn't work and I have to find new trees pretty far away.
Re: Am I stuck on Gleba?
You need to process fruit with productivity to ensure sustainable harvests. That means using any amount of productivity modules in an assembler or a biochamber.
Re: Am I stuck on Gleba?
You're right. But that's just on average. If you get unlucky (50/50 chance), you'll get fewer than average, and you'll have to go get more seeds. But when you use any of the production (red) modules, you'll get a little bit more than 1 seed per 1 tree, so you'll be much less likely to ever run out again.T3rm1 wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 9:24 pm Is there a way to get more seeds?
