Potential Memory leak

Post by sOuLeSs2025 »

Hi guys, love all the new expansion content, stellar stuff!
I'm writing to let you know about an issue both I and my friend have found when hosting a multiplayer server that we play together on.
We have both taken turns to host (very different computers), and found that if the server has been running for a substantial amount of time (we leave it running for a day or two at a time), there is a dramatic performance loss on the host computer once the game has been closed. (Tried playing Space Marine 2 after shutting the server down, had crazy fps drops and peripheral devices ceasing to respond) the problem can only be cleared by restarting the PC. Problem is repeatable on both computers. Memory leak maybe? We'll make sure, but I think all our drivers are up to date, and have only experienced this issue after shutting down a multiplayer host server, had no issues in single player that I've found. Hope this isn't too vague, if we get some logs or other info we'll send it in to you.

The factory must grow!

Thanks for the report. A memory leak will only impact the process that is running and once closed, the operating system will re-claim all memory it had allocated to the process. So it's not that. Given it's outside of the Factorio process, there's nothing we can do - we don't control the operating system, drivers or how they manages resources.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.
