Why doesn't the gun turret range on the map show up anymore like in the demo?
It was convenient to arrange so that there were no blind spots.

For clarity, what you want is for the various automated turrets range to "permanently" show up outside of map view? I ask because they show up when the mouse is over them. It is less useful than what you are requesting, but it is still there as a thing.

I second this, but as a toggle, not as completely permanent.

What version of the Demo are you comparing to? The screenshot provided appears to be 1.X release - particularly the Moire / CRT-screen effect near the edges. Demo Version 2.0.27 (downloaded + Installed today) does not have this effect anymore:

There were numerous changes to the Map / Remote View mechanics from 1.0 to 2.0 in order "to remove as many inconsistencies as possible between the local and remote building, so your muscle memory works almost the same everywhere.". Consequently, these Range indicators are no longer visible on the Zoomed-In view, only in the "Chart" view (where they are controlled by the Turrets toggle); or on Mouseover.

+1 for toggle-able turret range display even when zoomed in (emphasis on toggle-able!) as well as other similar entities, e.g. fulgora lightning rods

with roboport you can't see anything at all

There's a debug option (F4) for always-on lightning coverage

+1 to the post though - should work the way asteroid collectors do and show ranges of all of them when holding one.
