- What did I do?
I had robots flying across lava on Vulcanus in a vanilla Space Age game. I then used the editor to create patches of numerous "fluid-like" tiles and some provider/requester chests to reproduce/demonstrate the issue (at 0.5x speed to more easily observe the frames over the lava).
- What happened?
The reflections of the robots (and other entities, such as the roboports shown above) in the lava were brighter than the surrounding lava. - What did I expect to happen instead?
I expected the reflections in all fluid tiles (including lava) to behave similarly by darkening the instead of brightening. - Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
Always, if and only if "Show animated water" is enabled under Settings->Graphics. Turning off that setting seems to remove all reflections in fluid-like tiles.

Re: [2.0.28] Reflections in lava are brighter instead of darker
Hi, thank you for the poke.
We've always felt off about the reflections on lava, and honestly I don't know why we haven't disabled them before.
Now we did!
