[Lou][2.0.30] Super force build UI tip

Post by AnubiteDM »

There is no mention of this feature in the game's interface. With more than 500 hours in the game, I accidentally found out about it from a Youtube video.

1. Select any blueprint or press CTRL+C
2. Look in the lower-left corner of the player's UI and see a hint for a combination of different keys.

Expected:
Use all possible game functions/features.

Actual:
If you don't read devblog's or you don't have an experienced factorio player friend who can tell you,you won't even know about the existence of Super-force building feature.

Hello and thank you for the report.

The hotkey hints are not an exhaustive list and after internal discussion we decided against adding super forced entry, so marking this not a bug.

While there are some nieche ways to discover this feature (settings, blueprint item tooltip,..) you are correct that the feature's discoveribility is problem. We will consider adding a Tip and trick or maybe some other way to remedy that.

Thank you for your reply and clarifications. You can also add an "angry ghost" icon with a description, for example, to Factoropedia.

Well, that is not a good place for it, factoriopedia is generally for stuff with prototypes (item, recepes, tiles, entities, ...), while build modes are just values with hardcoded behaviour.

The ghost icons you mentioned are for types of entities (entity ghost and tile ghost) not for the build mode (forced) that shows the same icon when being used.
