In specific situations, changing biter settings on the map generation screen can add/remove oil wells. the video shows me switching between the two images and clearly shows the patch that has changed.(last two images show that the enemy base frequency setting has been changed, but no other settings have been touched) (before you ask, i did not touch any resource settings between these two screenshots)
I assume this is a quirk of the map gen, but it seemed weird enough to me (the setting i changed should not have any effect on the oil) that ive decided to make a post about it.

Honestly, this doesn't even look like a bug to me.
You don't want biter spawners on top of oil wells, so they need to be removed.
As long as there's plenty of oil elsewhere, it's not really a problem.
