Show only essential technologies swapped?

The "show only essential technologies" button when ticked shows all technologies when checked and only the required technologies when unchecked. Souldnt it be the other way around?

Thanks for the report. "Essential technologies" are ones required to beat the game. It doesn't interact with the selected technology at all.
