[2.0.28] Redo-ing walls does sometimes not restore circuits on walls

Post by Swedney »

When undo-ing and redo-ing circuits on placed walls, some of the walls may behave strangely and not restore their old state of circuits but use the standard state instead. This happened to me when I copied a backup of my railway crossing, undid it and redid it once again only to realize that circuits started to behave differently.

How to reproduce:
  1. Place walls with gates inbetween them, horizontally and vertically; make sure to place more than one or two because this bug does not always occur
  2. Connect the walls with red/green wires and change their circuit behaviour in any way (e.g. enable read sensor to see the blue lamp on them to detect faulty walls faster)
  3. Copy-paste the walls to another location
  4. Undo your paste action and then redo it (whether you redo it once they got deconstructed or not does not really matter, in both cases circuits may get deleted)
  5. Check the circuits in your redone walls
Result:
A mostly random number of walls will have their circuit settings reverted to standard, breaking potential setups and making them unuseable.
