TL;DR
Edit Upgrade/Deconstruction Planners from remote view. What?
Currently if you realize you want a more limited upgrade/deconstruction (only upgrade inserters, only deconstruct power poles) or non-standard upgrades (ex. anything involving quality) then you need to leave remote view and create planners in your inventory you can right click to edit. It would be much more convenient to be able to edit a planner directly from creation, like how you can immediately edit a blueprint if you hold Shift while copying, it could even be the same control where Shift+Alt+U/D opens the edit window for a new planner. Why?
We spend so much time in remote view now that needing to return to our character and muck about with inventory is a massive pain and flow breaker.Currently the flow is
- Create Planner
- Realize you need to edit it
- Exit remote view
- Open inventory
- Create new planner
- Place in inventory
- Right click
- Make your edits
- Pick up the planner
- Open map
- Switch back to where you were
- Use planner
- Realize you need to make more edits and every edit requires repeating almost the entire flow above.
Mods
I used to use Blueprint tools for this, it adds a button to edit blueprints at the top of the screen, but in 2.0 this functionality is broken and prevents editing blueprints.https://github.com/raiguard/BlueprintTools/issues/25
With Shift copy and blueprint flipping in vanilla now the other features of this mod aren't necessary to me anymore so I'd appreciate if this was possible in base-game.
