[2.0.27] Allow construction robots to use stuff from trash slots in vehicle

Post by akobberup »

If i have a spidertron with construction bots, where the "trash unrequested" is selected. If i cut'n'paste some buildings, the bots place the stuff in the trash slots. I can not then build the buildings again, as i do not have the things in my inventory - i need to request the items and then go to an area with logistics bots to have them take away the trash, and then return the items to the inventory of the vehicle, and then go to the place where the bots can build the stuff.

3 things here that could be helpful:

1) Allow construction bots to grab stuff from the trash slots of the vehicle
2) If an item is in the trashslots of the vehicle and is then added as a requested item, it could just be moved back from the trash slots.
3) Give the user the ability to move stuff from trash to inventory in a vehicle (if "trash unrequested" is not enabled, or the item is actually requested

Welcome on forums. That is not a bug. There is at least one reason why i do not want trash slots to be usable by construction robots: they would become an extended inventory which it is not.

Thanks for the reply!

I can see your point, and it makes total sense and unfortunately it kind of invalidates all my wishes. I just have to remember to not check "trash unrequested" unless it is to clean out the inventory once in a while and not leave it on all the time.
