Politely, I strongly disagree whatever changed was an improvement.

I used to be able to zoom out without going to the "charting" ("map"?) view while in sandboxes, I can no longer do so. This has significantly reduced the usability of the god controller and sandboxes in general for me. I hope this change is reverted, I'll be sticking with 2.0.24 until it is.



OK, all referential jokes aside, what I want is, to be able to look at my factory at maximum zoom without having to carefully control how far I zoom.
Like how it is, when you have a character attached to your player.
The map just isn't clear enough, I have no idea whether that blue square is a long-handed inserter or a normal inserter, what's on the belts, what color the belt is, what modules are in the machines, etc... I want to see the machines and belts.

And you had the perfect solution for this in Factorio 1.1, there were these controls called 'Zoom into world' and 'Zoom out of world'.

Which work perfectly, they were bound to the mouse wheel, same as the normal zoom in and out, but the normal zoom in and out also had the shift + mouse wheel, so that if you scroll with shift held down, you wouldn't zoom into or out of world.
I even still instinctively hold down shift when zooming when I want to zoom out to the maximum amount.

That way I can zoom as far back without going to the map view by simply hold down shift (or rebinding those keys such that zoom into or out of world requires shift), and that "overwhelming" amount of people (7) in the other topic can have their zoom to map view in god mode.

Al you have to do, is bring that feature back (why did you even remove it in the first place???), and make it work for the zoom out thing in the god controller.
