For already configured recipes, it would be great if, when reopening factories, the five quality levels could be directly displayed as well.
First of all, thank you very much for implementing this! It’s exactly how I had envisioned it, and it’s so much easier and faster than the previous dropdown menu. A fantastic improvement! I’ve noticed one additional idea that might enhance the feature even further:
The current functionality could stay as it is, but it would be a helpful addition to include the same quality level display in the other window as well, as a convenience feature.
For already configured recipes, when reopening factories, having the five quality levels directly displayed would make it easier to quickly change the quality without needing to swap the recipe. Additionally, the confirmation checkmark could potentially be omitted here, as it might not be necessary in this specific case.
Thank you so much for considering this!
___________
By the way, I’ve noticed something regarding the deactivated “smart mode.” In some cases, tunnels are still being created automatically when placing blueprints—for example, conveyors are sometimes turned into tunnels. This might not be intended behavior.
Additionally, the alignment of lines is currently not maintained, even though it seems like it should be. The main frustration with the smart mode appears to stem from the automatic tunnel creation, which is why some players prefer to deactivate it—not because the alignment is preserved. It would be fantastic if the alignment functionality could remain as is.
As a potential improvement, adding a toggle button to switch modes might make this feature even more user-friendly.
Thank you again for your time and effort in improving the game!

Re: For already configured recipes, when reopening factories, directly display the five quality levels as well. (And mor
I’m quite often copying an existing setup, and only want to change the quality after pasting. Currently it requires to manually change the whole recipe on each (distinct) assembler. Being able to change just the quality would be very convenient...
I noticed there is a mod for this: https://mods.factorio.com/mod/change-re ... 47789706b4
(I don’t want to play with mods yet though, as it disables achievements)

Does ctrl-RMB / ctrl-LMB not work here, to just change the recipe on one assembler, and quickly set it on all the others?
Re: For already configured recipes, when reopening factories, directly display the five quality levels as well. (And mor
That’s why I put “(distinct)” in my message. For same recipe assemblers it’s not much of a problem.
Two main use cases:
Two main use cases:
- malls of different qualities – I don’t know how people do it most, but if I try to produce high quality from ingredients that are hard to get at high quality (e.g. holmium plates), I set up factories for all qualities and recycling of lower qualities. I thus need to build the same assembly chain at all qualities.
- copying whole assembly chains – I didn’t do that yet, but I suppose it could be useful, e.g. reuse a lower-tier science chain but with higher quality.

+1
that is part of why I suggested this one: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=119645
So, when one open the UI, it would have the quality already selected, and it would be just a change of recipe.
