Iron stick recipe question

Hello,
I just started playing after a long pause and just noticed that iron sticks recipe have been removed from the game in 0.17.13 update. But when I open the game I can craft them. Is there something I am missing? I mean the recipe is still available. Here is an image of the update post.

OOh does this mean that actually it was never removed from the freeplay/campaign?

No, they were an essential part of e.g. rails.

I suggest you forget everything you did know from the old versions you played and just start the just released 2.0 version of the game as if it is a new game. Everything has changed except the core game concept: build stuff to automate, automate to build new stuff. It's of no use to study ancient game updates. Everything has changed somehow. Just start the game, create a new map, and have fun as it is now!
