This used to work, and still works for existing blueprints, but stopped working when creating new blueprints.
Create a train station
Set the title as something you want to parameterize
Create the blueprint and set the icon used in the title as a parameter
Create the blueprint and place it. You do not get an option to select the parameter. It has no name.
Gets assigned a random name after it is built.

Re: [2.0.13] Parameterized blueprint stopped working for train station names
Confirmed that this is still the case in 2.0.24. If you put an item in the name of the train stop, it offers it in the parameter menu, and you can check the parameter box to seemingly have it replaced with a parameter symbol. But the blueprint doesn't store it.
If you manually name the stop with the parameter symbol *before* creating the blueprint, then you *can* make a blueprint where the stop name is selectable when you place the blueprint. It is specifically the replacing of arbitrary icons with parameters in the blueprint parameter GUI that is broken.

It works for me fine (2.0.24).
The difference is that when blueprinting a train stop named [icon], I have to make sure "Train stop names" is checked (it's not checked on OP's screenshot above).
When blueprinting a train stop named [#0], "Train stop names" is checked by default.

That's the missing piece of the puzzle! I forgot about that option.Muche wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 5:21 am It works for me fine (2.0.24).

So then, is it a bug that with train stop name unchecked, icons in train stop names are still offered in the parameter list? Or should the option be automatically checked when the player selects such an icon to be a parameter?
