I'm not sure was it always like that before or this is an issue which was brought by 2.0. For this reason, I'm not putting it into 'technical problems' forum.
Anyway, some other day I was scheming my blueprints. All went well, but when I once opened by library, I found out that one of the blueprints, which sadly took the most effort, was replaced by an empty deconstruction planner with no apparent opportunity of recovery.
After a while it happened again, so at this point I tried and backtracked everything I did.
After some attempts I was able to reproduce it:
1. On the main screen I selected the deconstruction planner (Alt+D) for a very generic removal request.
2. Without canceling it with Q (unintentionally), I opened my blueprint library.
3. I selected a blueprint from the library to instantiate.
4. Now, while having it currently selected, if I don't put it back into the book (for example, by just placing it or canceling), it will be forever replaced with that blank deconstruction planner.
More than that, this action is not reversible by CTRL+Z, so if you haven't placed this blueprint in a while, chances are you will never see it again.
I think there should be some confirmation prompt, at least.

+1
That would explain my recent mystifying loss of about 10 hours effort!

BP should get placed in your inventory in that case
